The 49ers defeated the Washington Commanders 27-10 on Sunday at FedExField, and one player showed that the Week 16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens was an outlier.
Broc Purdy completed 22 of 28 passes for 230 yards, two touchdowns, and a 124.7 rating. He had his best grade since Week 10 against the Jacksonville Jaguars at 89.1.
When clean, the Iowa State product completed 19 of 21 attempts for 197 yards and one score with a 121.4 passing rating.
The rookie quarterback also restored the club's deep pass game against the Ravens. Purdy leads the NFL with a 63.8 percent completion rate and 11 touchdowns on long throws.
With left tackle Trent Williams leading the offensive line all game, they played better. Six pressures were permitted, a considerable increase over Week 16's 22. More 49ers Week 17 grades highlights:
Mitchell replaced star running back Christian McCaffrey, who exited with a calf injury midway through
Mitchell ran for 80 yards and a score on 17 carries. Mitchell caused five failed tackles and gained 57 of 80 running yards after contact. A game-high since 2021.
Aiyuk averaged 16.3 yards per reception on seven of eight targets for 114 yards and one score. The wideout caught five first downs, giving Purdy a perfect 158.3 rating on Aiyuk.
